- Why did you choose these people to interview? I chose these people to interview as they would have the most knowledge of why teenagers want to spend so long on social media, I also chose teenagers as they have first hand experience meaning they know why they go in social media so much. This would mean that the information they give my will be all true
- Do you think their contribution was important? I think the contribution from the teacher was very important not only because he is a teacher but also a father os has experience of both trying to teach kids who go on social media in class and his own kids who use social media at home. Having a teacher who has experienced both gives a personal touch which feels more realistic. Having someone who is a teacher talk about use of social media is very important as many students do look up to there teacher and respect there views as they are so influential so the target audience should be able to relate to it.
-Where they the right people to interview? I think they whee the right people to interview as both the teacher and parent had first hand experience of teenagers using social media so they would know why teenagers spend so long on it and why they do it. I also think as teachers are so influential today they would be the perfect person to interview as the target audience would listen and respect their views.
Relevance of your story to its target audience and broadcaster:
I think the story I am doing is very relevant to my target audience because loads of teenagers these days have Tablets and smart phones allowing them to access social media easily and this news article is giving information why it is bad but also asking why teenagers spend so long on social media. I think this is relevant to the broadcasters mainly because social media is a hot topic however it isn't talked a lot about social media and teenagers so this news article would be perfect.
Accuracy of your story:
How do can you vouch that your story is 100% accurate?
I think my story is 100% accurate because I have researched on many non bias and accurate websites to say my information is 100% accurate, I have also made the effort to go over any facts to make sure they are 100% true. I have also spoken to people who have had first hand experience with social media such as teenagers, parents and teachers. I have checked all facts and figures over and over before I releases them. This is to make sure the facts and figures are correct and that there is no false information being given to the target audience.
Validity
Are the stories findings valid and factually sound?
I think my stories findings are factually sound because I have backed it up with facts that everyone can understand.
Accessibility
How will you write your story so that your target audience will understand it and at the same time be challenged by it?
I am going to be writing my story with simple words and simple sentence structure so they can easily understand it, I also can't use a wide vocabulary as the target audience are young kids. I feel they will be challenged by it mainly because I will be using emotive language but also there will be a lot of information and facts and figures in the piece which will challenge them as they will have to try and interrupt them.
Quality
Do you think your sources are good quality? How do you know this?
I think that all my sources are good quality as they are all written from professionals so they will have to be accurate and good quality, some of my sources are from the BBC and the Guardian which are both very non bias and accurate newspaper providers so I also know this is good quality. I also think that my interview is good quality as its from a teacher who is head of media so his points and opinion would be respected by the target audience.
Cost effectiveness
If the story was written for a newspaper would it help sell papers? If so how?
I think it would definitely help sell newspaper as social media is such a big problem in todays society any everyone wants to know about it and why people spend so long on it especially teenager and this story is currently relevant. My story will also make the audience think as it will have moral panic in which means it will make people think especially parents who let their children go on social media all the time.
