Title of TV drama and font Used
Examples of fonts used:
Example of fonts: From looking at these fonts, my personal opinion of my favourite is the top left font, this is because the style it is, is very similar to a front page of a diary. In this TV show I will be having Jake the main character writing in his dairy throughout the series, and by having this font as the title connotes straight away to the audience that a diary might possibly by involved in the series, therefor leading the audience to think this story will be about teens. As teens are often seen to have diaries. The font that I will most likely be using (Top left) gives connotations of teenagers as the lines used are all very curved and child like same with the 3D style writing, as it s scribbled together so it makes it look like it stands out. It also gives feeling of child like boredom and something you'd do when you where much younger when you where bored, so thats why I will want to use it. When it came to the colouring of the lettering I wanted to keep it black, seeing as black has connotations of loneliness, abandonment and sadness which all of these parts of this story are about, so I think its key to keep the font black. I also think whee it comes to post production and creating the tile sequence it will be a lot easier placing the black font on any background without it looking tacky or not right.

Set design/location
Set Design: Location by will on Scribd
Above is a set design and location mood board, I specifically chose these locations for the teen drama:
The reason why I chose these locations where because they all have a connection to the codes and conventions used in a teen drama. These places and areas are very similar to the ones teenagers would know; something they would see as a location they may often go to. This, therefore, means the target audience will have an instant connection to it as its something they find very familiar. Also, these locations will be very cheap to film, this is because the locations could be designed in a studio or filmed on location, both of these options are very cheap to produce. The target audience for this show is 15-21-year-olds so these locations where the characters will hang out will be relevant to the target audience, and then, therefore, mean we will gain a larger viewership, which is what the client is really looking for.
- School
- Council estate
- Tube lines
- Alleways
- Pubs
- Docks
- Streets
- Apartment blocks

Focus group:
Changes I needed to make:
With these changes my target audience gave me, I went back to my presentation and made these changes.
Changes I needed to make:
- Need to talk more in depth in regards to the age restriction
- Look into BBFC and their age restrictions and why they are relevant and link it back to the target audience
- Add a marketing and distribution segment
- Add a legal and ethical segment
- Add in sample materials
- Add a setting segment
- Give teen dramas that follow the same outline as 'Junk[e.t.]'.
- Questions slide
With these changes my target audience gave me, I went back to my presentation and made these changes.
Need to talk more in depth in regards to the age restriction
I think the reason why my focus group mentioned about age restrictions is that in my first draft pitch, I go over age restrictions very quickly and not in depth at all. The reason why I think they bought it up was because this would allow the executives of the program to have a full understanding of who my target audience is, and also if I don't have an age restriction that may be some legal and ethical issues that may occur, and that will be bought up in the pitch to the executives of the program. They also bought up age restrictions as they wanted me to link it back to my target audience, so why I have gone for this age group.
Add a marketing and distribution segment
This needed to be added so the executives understands how I will distribute the product and market it. otherwise, the idea wouldn't sell if I didn't have a marketing and distribution segment. In my improved presentation, I will add a marketing and distribution section so it will be easier to sell the program to the executives.
Add a legal and ethical segment
I need to add a legal and ethical segment so the executives know I have looked at and taken into account the legal and ethical sides of my story. By adding this segment will make it easier for the executives to commission the show as they know I've taken in to account the legal and ethical sides of this story. Again this is something I will be adding in my next presentation to assure the program gets commissioned.
Add in sample materials and setting segment
This needs to be added in so the executives can have a full understanding of what the program might look like in regards to the setting, characters, mood, this again will make it easier to sell. I think the main reason why my focus group bought it up is so they could picture I their head what I was really selling and what the show might look like. And I think they thought the best way to do this is through sample material slide as well as showing the setting on a slide as well.
Questions slide
If a question segment is added, it makes the pitch more inviting allowing people to give their thoughts at the end of the slide, thats why I think my focus group wanted to see a question slide as this is an inviting way of asking for question instead of just waiting for people to ask at the end. It also looks more professional to the executives so this is also another reason why my target audience told me to add this segment in
By listening to my focus group it will allow me to achieve the clients brief and match what they are looking for in this brief. I think the main reason why my focus group mentioned these key feature that I was missing was because they wanted to find out more about these segments and they understand this is something the executives will be looking for when I deliver the pitch to them. These comments I have gained from my focus group has allowed me to build my presentation again to a professional standard and to meet the client requirements.
