Final story concept:
The final story:
The final story is about a Cat who is walking down a pavement in a clean looking city with high buildings beside her, we the audience then see her drop a £5 note, however the cat doesn't notice that she's dropped it and we see her carrying on walking down the pavement as the £5 note falls slowly to the floor. A fox then sees the money fall to the ground and he tip toes over to it very quickly and he snatches its and runs away with it, the same scene happens over again however this time its a dog that notices the money fall to the floor he then runs over picks it up and carry on running over to the cat and gives t back to her, we then see her happy and grateful for the dog to be so honest. At the end of this whole sequence a statement will come up saying "What would you do?"
Scene by scene break down:
Scene 1: The scene will open up with Cat walking down the street on a pavement in a quiet city. The location of where the cat is walking, is a clean and quiet street with high shops and building placed behind the cat. The cat then suddenly drops a £5 note on to the floor without realising and she carries on walking. This would appeal to the target audience as £5 is a lot of money especially as the target audience is such a young age this amount would seem a lot to them.
Scene 2: This scene then opens with the fox looking at the money falling to the ground as the cat walks away. the way the shot will be will show the pavement going far into the distance with the buildings on the right hand side of the cat still, the £5 not is slowly falling to the ground, this will appeal to the target audience as a fox can appeal to the male side of the target audience as foxes are seen to be more of a masculine animal, this will interest boys as this is an animal they may like and see some common relations in.
Scene 3: The fox then quickly tip toes over to the £5 note which is now lying on the floor, the buildings are behind both the fox and cat and the shot will be a wide shot of the side of the pavement. At this point we see the fox tip toe quickly over to the money pick it up and the run away with it. This would appeal to the target audience as it will make the young target audience think about what he's done and to think if its really good or bad.
Scene 4: The scene will open up with Cat walking down the street on a pavement in a quiet city.
Scene 5: This scene then opens with the Dog looking at the money falling to the ground as the cat walks away. The way the shot will be will show the pavement going far into the distance with the buildings on the right hand side of the cat still, the £5 not is slowly falling to the ground, this will appeal to the target audience as a Dog can appeal to both the male and female target audience this is because Dogs are seem to be friendly creatures.
Scene 6: The Dog then quickly runs over to the £5 note which is now lying on the floor, the buildings are behind both the Dog and cat and the shot will be a wide shot of the side of the pavement. At this point we see the Dog run quickly over to the money pick it up and then run towards the cat woofing to get her attention, she then turns round takes the money and meows to thank the Dog. This would appeal to the target audience as they will notice the Dog has given what seems (To the target audience)like a large amount of money back to the cat, this will intrigue the target audience and they will want to do the same thing as they already look up to the Dog as a character.
How is this suitable for the clients target audience:
This is suitable for the clients target audience as it a short and simple concept, which anyone can understand. However it has a very powerful message which should be taught to young children at this age as the target audience for CBBC is 6 to 12 years old and at this age anything can be very influential so something like this short story with a powerful message of telling the truth can be very influential on the target audience and have a positive impact on them.

A series of panels/rough sketches that outline the sequence of the scenes:
Characters concepts:
Type of animation: Claymation
Environment concepts:
Running times:
The running time of my piece will be 1 minute long this is because in the clients brief they stated they want a 1 minute + animation that tells a story. So I am doing it for 1 minute as this will be following the clients brief, I am also making it for 1 minute as young children especially this target audience (7-12 year olds) don't have a long attention span so this amount of time is perfect. 1 Minute is also perfect as I think if I did it for any longer I would not be able to edit it together in time for the clients deadline.
Clearly identified target audience:
My target audience is going to be kids aged between 6 and 12 year olds both male and female. The animation will appeal to the target audience as it is going to be using animals as the main characters such as a cat, dog and fox, which is something stereotypically that this kind of audience likes. This animation will also appeal to them as I will be using bright colours and again this is something that is stereotypically associated with younger audiences, as I will busing a lot of bright yellows, blues and greens. The animation will also appeal to them as they will learning one of the basic morals in life which is honesty, and this will fascinate the target audience, but also because of the characters and the bright colours. The children will also recognise key locations on the animation such as the city, and some of the target audience are getting older such as the 12 years olds and will soon be able to go outside on their own, so this will be something they recognise and will appeal to them.

Netherhall Risk Assessment Form for Unit 10 by will on Scribd
All risks stated above are realistic as I've made sure the risks won't become reality as I've made sure none of them will come up when in the creation process of the animation.
Risk 1: The first risk I have mentioned is anyone burning themselves on any of the lighting as it can get quiet hot. That is a very realistic hazard as the lights I will be using will are professional lighting equipment and they can get too quiet a high temperature, so when on set any crew need to be extra cautious when near any lights. My solution for no one getting burnt by any hot lights is having all lights a safe distance away from any crew as well as making sure everyone knows where the lights are going to be placed, by doing this I will be placing down a clear marker for all the crew to see easily, this will just let them know the light is placed here and they should be careful around it. I think this is a very low risk as many people will be careful round professional lighting and many people will have common sense not too touch it
Risk 2: My second risk is of anyone tripping over lose wires on set, this is a very realistic hazard as there will be wires everywhere such as the camera wires lighting wires etc. Too make sure no one is hurt by tripping over any of the wires I will be making sure all the wires are taped down so no one can trip over them, this is a very feasible idea as well as an easy idea to do, to prevent anyone from damage. I will also tell my crew that there will be wires around this is just to notify them that there is wire around, and also allow them to know not to rush around the set. This is a low risk hazard as I think there won't be loads of lose wires, however there is still a chance of creating tripping up.
Risk 3: The third risk on my risk assessment is the clay causing any allergic reaction, this can be a very dangerous situation if someone has an allergic reaction to the clay and don't seek medical attention, to prohibit this I will make sure all my crew give me a list of things they are allergic to, this will allow me to see if there are any ingredients used in the clay that could cause an allergic reaction to any of the crew. All resources are very feasible to stop any allergic reaction occurring, for example there will be a first aid kit on set at all times as well as a mobile phone to call emergency services. I believe this is a low risk as I will have all the resources needed to make sure no one gets an allergic reaction from the clay.
Risk 4: My fourth risk is anyone being hurt by carrying heavy equipment such as lighting or any camera equipment, to prevent anyone hurting themselves I will always make sure people don't carry anything they can't handle, as well as making sure people know how to pick up objects correctly fro example straight back and bent knees, it is feasible to prevent this risk and I believe it is a low risk as it very easy to prevent anyone from hurting themselves.
Risk 5: My final risk on the risk assessment is damaging the set, for example as the set is very small and can be easily moved out of place or broken, I will need to ask the crew members to be extra careful when on set as I don't want any of the set to be damaged whilst filming. To prevent this from happening I will be asking all crew members to be careful of the set when filming, and ask before they can move anything on the set. I think personally this is a low risk as its early feasible to prevent and Ill be making sure the set is fine at all times.

Detailed Final Character & Environment Drawings:
Here is my detailed final characters and environment drawings:
I have added more detail to the characters, for example on one of the main characters 'Cat' I wanted to add more detail into the eyes but keep it as cartoon like as possible, I also added more detail into the dogs face and body, making him more slumped but also look very happy , this is because I wanted to give him a lovable personality. With the fox I added more detail into his face to make him look more menacing and more mean to the audience to really convey a feeling that he is a bad person.

Animation tests:
Here is my animation test, personally I thought some of these test went really well and look very effective and I am hoping to use them in my final project.

Gantt chart:
I have created a gantt chart as this will help the schedule of the production and will allow me to stay on target. Having a visual chart will help me make my deadlines, this will then mean production will stay on time and the production can be released on the deadline date. This will mean the production will stay on track and be completed properly.
Another consideration I have considered is costs of the production, as I am doing claymation this may cost as I will need to buy all the materials to build the set, characters and other props etc. Below I have created a table to show me what costs will look like.
